Mental Floss

  2. When is 30 plus 30 equal to 1?
  3. Each group of words has TWO words which do not belong, each for a different reason. Can you find them both?   EXAMPLE:  Lily - Jane - Tulip - Rose

  4. Jane does not belong as it's the only one which is not a flower
    Tulip also does not belong because it's the only one which is not a girl's name
  5. Inside each set of the following words, there is a pair of smaller words. By putting & between them, you'll make a familiar phrase. For example, Skyrocketing/Trolleyman conceals Rock & Roll. 
    a) Surprised/Trashiness   b) Delaware/Bordering   c) Thundershower/Intellectual
  6. Try this out. Take the number one hundred twenty-three thousand four hundred and fifty-six and break that number in half. What do you get?
