Outsiders Final Project Options
Option 1: Book Cover!

#1: Convince someone that he/she should read this book. Also, use examples from the book to show what lessons he/she might learn from it.
#2: Does this book have an optimistic or pessimistic view of life? Explain why you think so using examples from the book.
 
Option 2:
Add another Chapter!
· Use Ms. Hinton’s style / Ponyboy as a first-person narrator.
· Dialogue modeled on the real thing.
· 800+ words.
· Believable.
Option 3: Try This One on for Size!
Newspaper, ca. 1967!
Use These Ideas for Starters!
· Stories and headlines from the novel
· Interviews with characters
· Stories that may have appeared in 1967
· Puzzles (using vocab. words)
· Advice Columns from the era?
· S.E. Hinton Bio…
· ??????
If you want to work with a partner, you must choose this option.
Option 4:
Poem "cycle"
· 4-5 poems (with drafting, etc.)
· 3-4 poems that really "capture" each character and one about the novel as whole and what we can learn from it.
· Illustrations ?!?
· 500+ words (or thereabouts).
If you choose this option, I want to see your rough drafts first.
Option 5:
Write a letter from Pony to his brother Darry (or Soda), dated today. (Use the first person I.) Show what Pony is doing, where he is living, what his career is. Also show what his brother(s) are up to. Make it sound like Pony. Make it plausible. Use letter form. 600-800 words.
