The Meaning of "Serfs and Kings"

In this poem the words Serfs and Kings are used as the hierarchy of Midieval Europe. The highest honor were the Monarchs and Kings, then it's the Lords, next are the Knights and, lastly are the Serfs or Peasants. So the author means that the highest class and the lowest classes should be treated equally.
